Network Modernization Expert Strengthens ViON’s Focus on Cyber Innovation and Security
HERNDON, Va. – July 17, 2014 – ViON Corporation, a market leader in the design, delivery and maintenance of mission critical IT infrastructure solutions, today announced the appointment of Richard Breakiron as its senior director of Cyber Solutions. Breakiron will advance ViON’s market position as a primary provider of cloud solutions and IT infrastructure for multiple branches of the U.S. military, DISA and U.S. security agencies, where Breakiron is known as an expert in the development, deployment and operations management of critical network and security IT infrastructure.
Before assuming the new senior position at ViON, Breakiron was DISA’s executive program director for the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS), and just prior with the HQDA CIO/G-6 where he served as the Network Capacity Domain Manager, serving as the lead for the Army-wide network modernization effort. Breakiron oversaw efforts to deliver a modernized multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) transport capability and secure $175 million of reprogrammed funds from Congress for security modernization. Before that, Breakiron was HQDA CIO/G-6 interim principal director and Chief Integration Officer, managing the integration of Armywide strategy and network modernization efforts, as well as the development of the strategic messaging to the Army and Congress on IT reform and modernization.
