IBM LTO Tape Drive
ViON presents the IBM LTO Ultrium Tape Drive, a high capacity, high performance tape drive solution for open systems. The IBM LTO drive is well suited for handling backup, save and restore, and archival data storage needs with higher capacity and higher data transfer rate than the previous generation. In addition, the IBM Ultrium 5 technology is designed to support media partitioning and the new IBM Long Term File System technology. It also continues to support encryption of data and WORM media.
The IBM LTO tape drive offers high physical storage capacity of up to 3.0TB (with 2:1 compression) in conjunction with the new IBM Ultrium 1.5 TB data cartridge, which provides nearly double the capacity of the previous Ultrium 4 cartridges. The data transfer rate of the IBM LTO tape drive has increased over the previous LTO generation up to 140 MBps with 6Gbps SAS interface connectivity.
