ViON Bandwidth Analysis Service

ViON offers a Bandwidth Analysis Service in support of deploying Hitachi disk storage replication solutions.  The deliverable from the service is the amount of bandwidth required between replication sites to meet a desired recovery point objective (RPO), along with the infrastructure required to support the replication.

The service includes the analysis of data collected by a variety of sources dependent upon the operating systems deployed by the customer.  The customer selects a representative peak period of processing for analysis.  The data is analyzed to provide a workload profile of data updates to the customer’s existing storage.  Peaks in workload are selected and matched against potential available bandwidth.

Output provided is a collection of tables and graphs depicting the resulting RPO, given the customer’s workload and available bandwidth.  Diagrams are also provided illustrating the infrastructure required to support the customer’s data replication.
