Hitachi Unified Storage
ViON presents Hitachi Unified Storage (HUS), a disk storage solution that redefines unified storage. Hitachi Unified Storage is a new platform with legendary Hitachi reliability and balanced scalability for all data. It is simple to manage, optimized for critical business applications and more flexible than any other midrange storage choice. Hitachi Unified Storage is part of an integrated portfolio of storage solutions that can be managed from a single interface for very efficient administration.
With trusted Hitachi reliability, it helps you meet application availability and performance requirements with lower investment. Deploy storage for all data types and easily grow to meet expanding requirements and service level objectives for critical business applications.
HUS has a number of key advancements that are not available today with our Hitachi Adaptable Modular Storage family:
- Integrated file and block storage gives customers the highest performing and most feature-rich unified storage available in the midrange storage market
- Hitachi Command Suite is updated with a common interface for managing and reporting on block volumes and file systems
- Automated data management with dynamic provisioning, dynamic load balancing and auto tiering
- Scalability for capacity, performance, file systems and volumes
- Total system capacity doubles to 960 drives in HUS 150, increasing the system capacity scalability to nearly 3PB
- Block performance increases 3x for sequential I/O
- Large 128TB volumes, 256TB file systems and single namespace
- The system trays and disk expansion trays are smaller to increase density and reduce consumption of data center floor space, and power and cooling costs
Hitachi has also updated Hitachi Application Protector software to support block and file data stored on the new Hitachi Unified Storage 100 family. This software runs from an application management console to give you easy-to-use, application-consistent snapshot software for backup, recovery and protection of critical application environments.
