Storage Infrastructure

For more than 20 years ViON has assisted our clients in building their mission essential data storage systems. We have provided the products of Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), IBM, and many other proprietary and open systems. Building a storage infrastructure to support numerous different server architectures requires a thorough understanding of both traditional and cutting edge technologies. ViON's strong staff provide many, many years of design and installation experience in this challenging field.

From our wide range of products we provide data switches, host bus adapters, drive arrays and any other components required by our clients. Recently storage systems have grown from being physically attached disks to a complex and reliable storage system accessible over a local or wide area network. These new systems are more reliable (being generally of a multiple or redundant nature), faster and easier to manage.

The storage infrastructure is composed of Ethernet and Fibre Channel data switches operating at speeds of either 1 Gb/sec or 2 Gb/s for newer models. Adapters for connecting these systems to PCs, Sun Workstations and mainframe channel attach devices are also required.
